People from the Philly area, I have a wedding question?
My fiance & I want to plan a cozy getaway somewhere to elope in the next few weeks. We live in PA, very close to Center City Philadelphia. We’d like to stay some-what local, but don’t mind traveling to NJ or DE if we had to. The only issue really is the money, we only have about $600 to spend!! Has anyone heard of any places in these areas that might offer a cheap elopement package? Has anyone actually done something like this? Any input would be helpful & appreciated! Thanks

I am closer to Harrisburg than Philly – but not real far in the grand scheme of things.
We eloped in Winchester, VA at www.valleyweddingchapel.com for the service.
License $30 (at Winchester Court House); Justice of the Peace $50 – and we were done.
You could probably do something like that and have plenty of money to spend a weekend at a B&B in the area.
The thing to be aware of is NJ has a 3 day waiting period between when you apply for the license and can use it (some places won’t let you have the license until the time is up, others just tell you that you can’t have the ceremony for that # of days).
And Delaware has a 4 day wait if both people are non-Residents (which you are if you are both in Philly).
Virginia, which isn’t that far, has no waiting period. You could get the license and if you arrange the officiant could get married the same day!
