Alaska vacation ideas?
I’m planing a trip to Alaska in July and need some ideas. Is there a place or company that allows us to hike to a cabin and stay for one day? One day cruise for whale watching? I’m looking cheap fun! Thanks for any suggestions.
There are litterly hundreds and hundreds of company’s up here that will take you on any kind of adventure that you want to go on up here. However they are far from cheap. I try to find many fun and cheap things to do here all the time. I live in anchorage so i know alot of the things to do for cheap. There is the Eagle River Nature Center in Eagle River, AK (an hour from anchorage) that has a cabin and yorks that they rent out per night for 65.00 and its about a mile and a half hike from the center in the woods and it is exactly what you think a cabin in the woods should look like. The state of Alaska Dept. of Forestry also rents out “public use cabins” that you can hike to, and those are anywhere from 15 to 30 a night. There are many sight seeing trips from Whittier, AK (again an hour from Anchorage) but they again can be very expensive, i suggest a glacier cruise they run 60-150 per person.
