What are some scenic retreats located in or around South Carolina for writers?
My friend will soon be leaving for basic, and we’re hoping to have one last “vacation” of sorts before she goes. We’re both writers and pretty much just wanting to escape the strains of our small town in South Carolina, so the idea of a nice, scenic weekend-getaway sounds pretty good. Unfortunately, we’re not really sure where to begin looking.
If anyone has any personal experience, that’s awesome. Really though, I’m looking for some ideas on where to stay or maybe some ideas on how to find a place to stay. These are some of the basic limitations we have:
1. Within SC, NC, or GA. We may not be able to drive too far.
2. A weekend stay that would cost less than $1000…the cheaper the better, heh.
3. A place that may be quiet but isn’t entirely without things to do.
Any help would be awesome!
Charleston, Hilton Head Island and Savanah is the best, you can get $39 to $59 for some hotels
You can check craigslist.org for some house or apartment for rent, sublet for one week.
