How to make a weekend getaway romantic?
I got a hotel suite for the weekend as surprise for my hubby this weekend. This will be our first weekend alone without my little sister or our son. Needless to say we need some romance. I need ideas to make it romantic, we can’t can’t have any alcoholic beverages, because I just recently found out I was pregnant. My baby hasn’t changed my body yet, so I suppose I could buy some sexy lingerie, but that’s where my ideas end. I couldn’t find a place with nice scenery or near anything special that had available rooms, all the rooms with jacuzzis were unavailable also, so I really could use some great ideas. find out, if you dont know already know, what it is exactly that your husband likes and/or finds romantic. if there’s a certain thing you both like to do together but never have the time or a place you both like to go, favorite meal, drink, music etc. then incorporate it into your getaway. i personally think you cant go wrong with a nice meal and a bottle of champagne. this early in your pregnancy i’m sure one glass cant hurt. also, bring lots of candles and a nice bubble bath for you both to enjoy in the tub. massage oils are great too so you can take turns rubbing each other down to get you relaxed and in the mood. bring some of your favorite love songs to listen to in the hotel and/or in the car if you both plan to drive around a lot. plan to visit some new places nearby that you’ve always wanted to go to and/or do together. buy some new lingerie and then go to the spa to get your hair, nails, and body looking and feeling good for him to enjoy. all that should take care of the romance.
other suggestions would be to do things that really matter to both of you and would not only help your marraige but yourselves individually. make sure your hotel suite bed is nice and comfy (bring extra pillows/blankets if needed) and spend the entire time in it getting room service and watching tv and movies with no distractions and nothing else to do but catch up on sleep and you know what! if you both have favorite tv shows you like to watch and/or want to catch up on then rent/buy the dvd sets and watch those so you can enjoy them together. bring board games and cards to play that will keep you entertained and bring out your fun, competitive side. you can even find some adult games in novelty shops you might enjoy even more. bring sentimental things like pictures and videos from your wedding day, the birth of your son, etc. to remember all those special moments and bring you closer together while you plan for the future. write a poem to each other, or even rewrite your vows if you could do it all over again and dont read them until the night of your vacation. buy each other a personal gift or something you both have always wanted. do some new stuff in the bedroom you’ve never tried before. hope that helps, have fun, and congratulations on your pregnancy!
