Romantic Getaway in Poconos, PA?
Did anyone go on a romantic getaway in Poconos, PA as a same-gendered couple? I hate asking questions like this, especially on Yahoo Answers. But, I’m having a private marriage ceremony and want to go to the Poconos for a Honeymoon-ish romantic getaway. Before I book a lodge and plan activities I wanted to see if anyone had bad experiences as a same-sex couple in the Poconos. I’m not looking for special ‘gay lodging’ or ‘gay hotels.’ I want to go just like any other couple. I just want to make sure I don’t waste my money.
*I know PA state and Federal governments do not recognize a marriage between couples of the same gender. But, I’m having a ceremony anyway and want to celebrate it with a nice romantic trip to the Poconos.
I’ve never been but my parents went last year for their anniversary. They said that they didn’t have very much fun. They said that during the day there was not much to do and at night they felt left out because there were a lot of younger couples (my parents are in their mid-40′s). They said that they would not waste their money there again. Who knows though, you might have a great time. Good luck either way
