Looking for a romantic, inexpensive, 2-3 getaway for boyfriends bday….?
i found a great website called luxurylink.com but most of the beautiful getaways are more luxury vactions that will end up being around $2000 plus airfare… we live in vegas and I am looking for a nice weekend getaway to take him for his bday, maybe somehwere in northern cali, this would be in dec so it will be cooler. Any suggestions that are romantic, nice and more on the inexpensive side?
How about San Francisco? Very romantic and lots to do! Southwest Airlines currently has a round trip fare in December from Vegas to SF for $128 per person (if you buy the tickets on their website at southwest.com) As far as hotels, we stayed at a great inn called Petite Auberge (http://www.jdvhotels.com/hotels/petite_auberge). It’s located between Nob Hill and Union Square, so you can take the cable cars from there. The rates at that time of year range from $120 to $250/night. We stayed in what they call the Petite Suite – VERY romantic. It’s like having your own little cottage with fireplace and private deck. You’d never know you were in the middle of a city! They also have a great (free) breakfast every morning – eat in the dining room or bring a plate back to your room.
Have a meal in Chinatown, check out the incredible Victorian architecture in Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow. Rent a car and go to Napa or Sonoma Valley wine country (only about an hour drive, or you can take a bus tour). There are too many things to see and do to list here. If you’re into photography, this is the place! Oh, and if you do go, don’t miss the view of the Golden Gate bridge from the little park next to the yacht club.
