Why chose Dubai for vacation?
excuse my ignorance and i’ve never been to any of middle east or arab countries, but i saw a few travel shows, besides the city, it is all deserts and it looks VERY hot! that 6 star hotel looks really grand but not average people can afford to stay there. Shopping? i can think of other destinations to shop and many other things i can enjoy. Besides super rich people spend a ton of money, staying in the luxury resort for their vacation, is there anything Dubai can offer to average joe? So, why Dubai?
You don’t. I wouldn’t reccomend going there. Infact, I was supposed to move there but at the last minutes my parents pulled out and I’m really glad. I’ve never been there personally, but one of my teachers who used to work in India moved to Dubai and he absoloutley hates it there. He described it as “a big beach and mall with snotty Arabs” (not to sound racists). He said there is no culture, nothing interesting to do there, and people are very shallow. Other friends who have been there agree with him. Your reasoning is also correct. Unless you are super wealthy and can afford to stay in 7 Star hotels and prance around the malls all day, then there will be little to do. Muslim and Indian women are supposebly treated rather poorly there….It’s not all that it’s cracked up to be, and you could find much nicer places to spend your time and money at.
