I’m just going briefly over a few Western Med ports and what I did at them.
If you’re going to Livorno, Civitavecchia or Naples I recommend going on a tour. Having walked round the ports myself there is barely anything around except for a reasonably nice beach in Civitavecchia which is a little walk along the front from the harbour.
Monte Carlo is lovely, Barcelona I’d just go on a bus tour which allows you to see the city then walk up the Ramblas and see the shops.
Gibraltar and Palma are great and are a good place to just walk round the the shops and maybe find a bit of lunch.
For any other advice the lot on www.welovecruising.co.uk are great and well rehearsed in all P&O cruises and ports!
