Should I go on vacation to Greece or Egypt?
My boyfriend and I are planning a vacation this coming September. We have narrowed it down to Greece or Egypt. Both are vacation packages that we found that would be relatively inexpensive (under $2000/person) but we don’t know how much we would need for additional spending money in each place.
The Greek vacation is 3 days in Athens then a 4-day Greek island and Turkey cruise.
The Egypt vacation includes 8 days from Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and even a day and night travelling by Felucca down the Nile!
We can’t decide – anyone been to both of these places? Suggestions? We would like to keep the cost down as much as possible too.
Many people are talking about safety. Both places are relatively safe, but there are some parts of Greece such as Malia in Crete which can be dangerous due to drunken thugs and alcoholism (BTW its tourists that get drunk and commit crime here, and guess where from)? Familes avoid this place. Malia is perhaps an exception and in this case I would say Egypt is far far safer than Malia.
In terms of culture both have immense interest and history, it really depends on what you like. Both have very hot climates perhaps Egypt even more so.
I am sure if you go to Greece you cruise company will not take you to Malia so don’t worry about that.
Egypt sounds exciting too. Perhaps do more research look on Google Earth you can see photos of places.
