Cruise line refunds or resale issues?
I bought a cruise package with “Imperial Majesty” and was told I could cancel it. I told them, that would be the only way I would buy it, because at the time, when they called, I didn’t know his vacation weeks. Now, after I called them to cancel and told them that, “due to the economy, and job cuts, we won’t be able to take this cruise.” The sales Rep. ASSURED me, that she will make note of our call, plus it was recorded, that I would be able to cancel, should I need to.
Well, I knew I would have a problem, and now I’m out $600.00.

Imperial Majesty’s policy is as follows:
Cancellations and Changes/Revisions
Any Imperial Majesty reservation changes will be assessed a $25 administrative
fee once the reservation is confirmed.
Imperial Majesty’s cancellation policy is as follows:
31 – 45 days prior to sailing: $25 administrative fee
7 – 30 days prior to sailing: $50 per person
0 – 6 days prior to sailing: 100% of fare
All reduced rate reservations are Non-Changeable / Non-Refundable.
That last line there about reduced rate reservations. My guess is that is what you are booked on. So, if that’s true, per the policy you cannot change or get a refund.
If you are certain that they told you that you could cancel, you need to call them and ask to speak with a supervisor and ask if they can listen to your original call. If the person you spoke with did in fact say it was refundable, then you might have something. There will probably be some cancellation fees and things. But, you should get a majority of it back.
