Cheap Flights To New York

Does anyone know cheap flights/hotels to New York?

I am hoping to take a trip to New York in November and was wondering if I can fly cheap? I live in Scotland and I know you can now fly from Scotland but not sure the best price/hotel.

Flight prices largely depend on what day of the week and what time of day you are flying. If you have a flexible schedule of when you can leave, you will probably be a little more successful in finding lower cost flights. Another option is to compare prices for flying in and out of different airports. For instance to get to NYC you can fly into Newark, La Guardia, or JFK airports. Plus the fact that you are going in November is probably a good thing. I think flight prices are usually highest in the summer months when tourists are trying to take advantage of warmer temperatures.

Usually when I plan a trip, I look on a website like www.cheaptickets.com to see which airline carriers are offering the cheapest flights for my selected dates. From there I usually go directly to the airlines website and book the ticket as it is usually a little cheaper. You may try looking up ticket prices on www.cheapflights.co.uk to see if there are any deals. It’s also helpful to know which airlines fly internationally from your nearest airport.

As for hotels, that really all depends on how much you want to spend, what part of the city you want to stay in and if you want more luxuries or are happier with just some place clean/comfortable to sleep. If you are looking for budget accomodations, NYC does have a few hostels. It also has a few micro/budget hotels like the Jane, Hotel 17, and the Pod Hotel. I have stayed at both the Jane and Hotel 17 and can vouch that they are very simple accomodations but both clean and comfortable. The only downside is the bathroom is down the hall (kind of like living in a house). If you are looking to stay in your typical, standard hotel, I would check out www.hotels.com and www.travelzoo.com to see if there are any special discounts for the new york city area or to see which hotels have good prices and meet your needs. The good thing about NYC is that pretty much no matter where you stay, public transport is easily accessible.
