who is an experienced traveler?
ok so i might be traveling to mumbai, india from los angeles, california .I have never traveled out of the country before so i need info on what i need to travel. i know i need a passport, and tourist visa for india . the flights the i have researched and that come out cheaper are those that make stops. for example there is one that leaves from LAX to an airport in germany and from there to india… on the return trip it would from india to canada and from canada to los angeles. Will i need visas for germany and canada eventhough i am just passing by taking my flight.. please help thanks

Check with your health insurance to find out if it covers you abroad. If yes then take proof of coverage with you. If no or not sure then get trip medical insurance, which is cheap and sold by airlines & travel agents.
If you have not yet applied for a passport then get a passport card in addition to the regular passport. The cards can only be used to cross borders by sea or land transport within North America but they make great secondary ID while traveling abroad.
