Need help finding cheap flights?
I’ve never been good with playing around with dates or prices for flights. If somebody can help me, I’m looking for the cheapest flight possible from Houston to San Diego. My flight departure would be Friday July 23 and my return flight would be the 25th.

A quick search of both orbitz.com and southwest.com indicates that the cheapest fare available between those cities for those dates is on Southwest, between Houston Hobby (HOU) and San Diego, for $438 round-trip. If you need to fly from Bush Intercontinental, then there is a fare for about $10 more from IAH, on Frontier Airlines.
The only way you’re going to find something cheaper than either of those fares at this point are either to wait for a fare sale, move your travel days away from Friday and Sunday (which are typically the most expensive days of the week to fly — moving travel dates to Saturday and Tuesday, for example, might result in significant savings), or to try bids using Priceline or Hotwire to see whether they’d accept something cheaper.
