shore excursions in alaska….?
going on a holland america cruise this coming summer. looking at a river raft/float shore excursion, to view wildlife, like bears, etc…
anyone been on that? fun? worth the $$?
any others you can recommend? We will have an 8 year old with us.

Many like the the train ride. Also the whale watching. Only take a whale watching one that is guaranteed so if you do not see any whales you get 75% of your money back. In Ketchikan you can see the lumber jack show from behind the Salmon Mall. There are many others to choose from depending on what you like. Did you get an excursion booklet which describes each with what is included and cost? If not ask for one. Also if you are going on a cruise tour you will see plenty of bears on the train ride or in the National parks.
