Condor Airline flights to Alaska – is it worth paying the extra for Comfort Class ?
We plan to fly to Fairbanks, Alaska, via Frankfurt, in early June. I want to pay the extra money for something called Comfort Class. It’s about double the regular cost. Beloved says no, we’ll be fine in Tourist Class. But it’s a very long flight and we are not as young as we were. Has anyone traveled with this airline ? Do you think it’s worth the extra ?
I live in Fairbanks and fly to germany about once a year usually with Condor. The planes that they use are the type where there are 3-4-3 seats in economy class and like most airlines you are pretty cramped. However the ‘Comfort class’ is not really worth double the price in my opinion. Yes you get bigger seats and more leg room but like with most Charter flights this is not as fancy and big as a first class section on other airlines and double the price is just way to much. However, if you plan on upgrading you might want to do it for only the leg to Fairbanks since on the way to Fairbanks there will be a stop in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada(you do not get of the plane), making the flight about 12 hours long. On the way top Germany you fly direct, which is only 9 hours so that is much better.
