Best POV camera for a month long trip to Alaska?
First things first battery life is important I will not be traveling with a laptop or charging station its just me the camera and camping equipment, So battery life is important or at least low price extra batteries. Also i will be river rafting so could get wet and maybe even submerged for a few seconds. I was leaning towards a Contour HD for price small size and ease of use, just wish they had more mount options.
What do you recommend?
Have you considered the GoPro HD HERO line of POV cameras? While battery life (about 2.5 hrs) and cost of an extra battery (about $30 on Amazon) is comparable to the ContourHD, the GoPro HD HERO includes a waterproof enclosure that will protect your investment should it get submerged while rafting. There are also many mounting options available for GoPro cameras. There are a few other POV camera options (http://www.povcamera.net/pov-camera-comparison/) but in my opinion, I would go with either the ContourHD or the GoPro HD HERO.
