Juneau is Alaska’s capital (Alaska’s population is around 686000), however Juneau cannot be accessed by road. Sou’-east Alaska is sandwiched between the robust coastal chain of mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Entry is only by means of air or sea. Cruise ships transport thousands of visitors to southeast Alaska and Juneau daily between May through to September. The weather in Juneau and the southeast panhandle can be depicted as cooler and wetter. Southeastern Alaska (The last Frontier) encounters plenty of downfall in the form of rain, snow, and fog. This is how it appears much of the time.
Downtown Juneau is compact and is easily able to get around by foot, however higher up fourth Street it gets extremely hilly. Virtually all locals travel by car or by the local bus service. In the summertime , Alaska enjoys drawn-out daytime throughout the state. Alaska’s wildlife is among the most stunning in the world and will leave you with unforgettable memories. From the bears of Hyder to the American eagle of Haines, the whales of Frederick, Sound to the birds of the Stikine River, to the Inside Passage Segment of the Alaska Coastal Wildlife.
Alaska Fishing is a fisherman’s wildest dream come true and simply offers the most fabulous fishing on earth. Alaska’s oceans, rivers, and lakes are abundant with immense runs of record breaking Salmon, Rainbow Trout, beautiful Arctic Char, barn door Halibut and many other challenging sport fish.
On the social side of things, how many singles out there fancy getting together for a social outing? Before you get too excited, this part of the world is not party central, but its easy to chat with the locals and meet new people.
Far and away the most common with locals is The Alaskan Bar, listen to music and drink an Alaskan beer with an Alaskan. A bit harsh looking but a cool place to hangout and chat.

Visit the popular Alaskan Brewery to sample the brews. Pel Meni! Pel Meni dishes up genuine Russian Dumplings. Forget ordering from an extensive menu as Pel Meni dumplings are all they serve. it’s humble and not the most flash place on earth, but its a recommended eatery while in Juneau.
Monday’s @ RAW at the Alaskan: Who would have conceived anywhere in Juneau could be so busy at the start of a working week? How bout some karaoke on Wednesday night @ Sandbar? This joint is extremely active on Wednesdays and the restaurant’s open for all those late eaters. Triangle hosts Trivia on Wednesdays and Fridays. Thursdays: Rendezvous holds a rock, paper, scissors competition. Dancing on Fridays and Saturdays? Looking to get down and groovy? At the Imperial Bar, Marlintini’s Lounge and the Viking’s back room you will find dance/R&B/hip-hop music.
Alaska will leave you feeling with a sense of total relaxation and adventure at the same time. A destination that must be seen to be believed so you can capture this beautiful world within our world.
