How much daylight does Alaska have during the end of November/beginning of December?
We traveled to Alaska during the beginning of September. Now we are already wanting to return there. If it doesn’t have much daylight then, what’s the point in trying to vacation there? We’ll be there Nov 28th thru Dec 5. How much daylight does Anchorage and Fairbanks have during that time? Also, does anybody know any good winter accessible cabins in those areas to rent?
Thanks! I really can’t afford to waste our money. We’ll probably wait until next september again when the leaves are at peak. I’m 27 and me and my husband thought maybe we’d like to live there some day.

Throughout that time, Anchorage gets more than six hours of sunlight each day. On November 29th, for instance, the sun sets at 3:54 p.m., only a half-hour earlier than in New York.
Not only that, but you also have almost an hour of twilight both before and after sunset. That far north, it takes much longer to get dark than in the lower 48.
For sightseeing and traveling on, say, November 29th, it starts to get light out at 8:43 a.m. and is not fully dark until 4:52 p.m. That adds up to more than eight hours of usable light. Southern Alaska is not as gloomy as the legends make it out to be.
Further north and east at Fairbanks, sundown comes at 3:06 p.m. on November 29th. Even then, you get usable light from 9:00 in the morning until 4:20 p.m., seven hours 20 minutes. It’s far from the 24-hour darkness you’ve heard about in legends.
