I just ordered airline tickets on line from American Airlines. How will I know when the status moves from?
I just ordered airline tickets on line from American Airlines. How will I know when the status moves from “purchased” to “ticketed”. I got an email with the Itinerary but it does not have a ticket number or any type of conformation number in the email. So when I go to look it up on AA.com it is asking me for my ticket number but I dont know where to get that? Someone help!
No, you don’t need a ticket number to look it up. All you need is the confirmation number (AKA booking number, AKA PNR, AKA Record Locator) and I’ll bet that it is in the email. It’s even in emails about held, not yet purchased reservations.
To answer your original question, the change from “purchased” to “ticketed typically takes 12-24 hours, but I’ve seen it take less time. Or more.
By the way, if you can’t look it up how do you know it’s in “purchased” status?
